Friday, May 19, 2006 (GST) - Eurobot UK Championship

location: Middlesex University, Trent Park Campus (Wisteria)

Created in 1998, Eurobot is an international amateur robotics contest open to teams of young people, organised either in student projects or in independent clubs. Thirty-two teams representing 22 countries have entered this year’s competition.

The rules change each year to give new teams the same status as the others and to stimulate the ones which have already participated. Nevertheless some points remain the same: the matches last only 90 seconds, and the competition area is defined as a 2m per 3m table surface with a more or less complex topology. Since its introduction, this contest has been broadcast every year on French TV Channel M6. This year’s competition involves crazy golf with robots.

The world finals will be held in Sicily 1-4 June 2006.
